I am working on a picture with names and a giesha for a friend. She likes the sweet geishas and are they not cute? I moved her hair a bit and discovered that she became a Muslim. We are not so different. :)

Spring forgot Malmö

Last year in March the first springflowers were blooming and wintercoats on their way to hibernation. Today: still snow and the coldest and snowiest winter in almost thirty years. How I long for the sun and warmy days! Hello spring! Don't forget Malmö!

Paris

What is it with the Eiffel Tower that makes it appear so often in art? Is it becasue it is a piece of art itself? Or could it be because it is a symbol of journey, glamor, fashion, holidays, romance?

The cat's name is Filip and he has never been to Paris, but he has traveled to Stockholm from our house a few times, which is a 6-hour-journey: sitting in his cage in the car trunk watching the world pass by.

A heart for Valentines Day. Or just a bit digisplatter. New brushes are always useful.

When I find a song that goes straight to my heart, I can listen to it twenty times in a row without getting tired. "Road Salt" by Pain of Salvation - one of many contributions to the Swedish Eurovision-Song-contest-song - has swept it away everywhere due to contest rules. Now I listen to this and when there are these (highly).

Last weekend we wathced the movie Star Trek. I really like those films, how unreal they are, I still like them. Have you seen Star Trek? Then you know maybe how I think when I say that our society is becoming what the Borg are: having a common consciousness: the Internet.

Another reflection I did this weekend was when I read on a blog "... and we have saw the SUN in the weekend ...". I thought what does SUN stands for? Then it struck me that SUN means just sun. It is hard to be modern... :)

The Art of Life

Art and images is a part of my every day life. I see patterns, beauty, lines , color, shape combinations Kodak moments whenever och whennever I expect it. Therefore this print came up: "The art of life": travel, music, food, computing, shopping, environmental awareness, home decorating and love and also of course art.
Ok. I admit I left out "fart", it would at least be a part of my every day life with the kids and their sense of humor, and sometimes also mine, I admit again.

And I must admit one more thing. That "art" was one of the most boring things I knew when I was a little girl. Or so it was the word itself, which then meant boring abstract paintings, have-to-go-to-museums in school and bit of snobbish, which I did not really understand. How nice that you can change!

Another caffe-latte-day

Are you happy today? I feel quite good. Soon I will go for lunch at my favourite café and have a caffe latte with whipped cream (lchf) and sort out ideas to new images that I have in my Moleskin. I expect a feel-good-mode to appear then.

This week we changed our newspaper subscription to a "Friday to Sunday"-subscription. We do not have time to read it properly on weekdays and a bonus is that we have more than halved the amount of journals to be carried away to recycling. And yesterday came the news with the real picture of it: IPad. I love the smart design. And stylish. The only question is when you can buy your giant-iPhone for home use.
Maybe we have to buy two "Can you pass me the Culture-pages, please??".

The fossil house

When I was a child we often went to this beach with both pebbles and sand. Once I found a white fossil there large as my fist (then, not now). I know it is in a box in bag from the 80's at my parents attic. But which bag?

This little house is used by the fishermen and looking peacefully lonely I think.

Wake up and smell the breakfast

My version of Keep Calm. Stay calm at breakfast. An idea that has been joining me for a while: I could just not choose what food or drink to smell. Therefor I chose them all! Except for chai tea. Would be a bit too much with coffee.

Facades

I have had an idea for quite a while now about facades from different architectural styles combined to one building. I am waiting for that partly cloudy lunch hour with perfect light, when I take my camera and for the facades-walk in Malmö city for shooting images to the image toolbox. Meanwhile I made this image of whatever buildings in my iPhoto.

Exhibition: Märtas Café

During February but starting today I will display ten artworks at Märtas Café in my little town. It is a cozy café with delightful salads and great muffins. In summer the backyard is a great place to relax in the shade and watching people.

Ideas appear when I least expect them. Probably that is the idea with ideas.

Last week I was on my way to my once-a-month-photo-club-meeting. I am the youngest (i.e. 35). Most of them have passed retirement-age, but uses USB:s! I have found out that in this case age is not essential at all. We show and discuss out photos, have coffee and sometimes arrange competitions with other local clubs in the south of Sweden.

Last week someone had the good sense of changing the locks and forgetting to gives us the new key. Postponed meeting. On my way home this image-idea above just popped up. Something good came out of the non-meeting.

Ever summer?

Today is one of the days when I wonder how it ever will be possible for summer to come. Or even spring. It is grey, grey and grey and rain. This picture tells me at least that there was a summer!

It is lovely to take the camera, go somewhere. Alone. And feeling that inspiration-mode is on. That is the best nutrition for fantasy and my later work with the images. I love it! And I do that instead of watching TV at night; my favorite programme i Photoshop.

The yellow house

I prefer passengers seat. Then I can watch everything passing by. Houses. Trees. Patterns. Colors. People. Inspiration.

On my way to work - driver's seat though - in principle I always get a red ligth at the junction by the yellow-brick-house, which is good: since it is my put-on-some-light-pink-lipstick-stop.

Recently they changed the windows and changed the sashes to a strong yellow color. Looking a bit odd, but something that stands out from the other mainstream houses.

One morning an old couch and a shelf was standing outside, waiting for the moving van. The house was like inside-out. And probably also the life of an old lady, moving to a elderlyhome.

Hey! Camera! Quick. Then the light went green and life moved on.

Hello!

I am Caroline and I live in the very south of Sweden. Two kids. One husband. One cat.
2010 will be my forth year blogging, I have been blogging in Swedish and now I want to start to blog in English too. Here you find my other blog: Min inspiration which means "My inspiration". Please have a look: images speaks any language and the blog is translable to Google-English.

If I could have only one program in my computer it would be Photoshop (of course with e-mail and internet-access built in): photography, graphic design and illustrations are my passions in life.
